Mango Baby Puree
Looking for an easy recipe for your baby that will feature the delicious taste of Mangos?
Then, I’ve got you!
I’m not sure if this was a proud moment for me, but the first time I made this recipe, I ate the ENTIRE batch! By myself! Baby Ellie was napping, so I whipped up this recipe for her afternoon snack. When I tasted the first bite, I couldn’t stop spooning this delicious puree right into my mouth. I ate the entire batch, standing at my counter while staring out the window. I was in mango heaven.
Realizing what I had done, I quickly blended up another batch, and when Ellie woke up, I served her a small bowl of this puree. And to no one’s surprise, she also took one bite before demanding that I feed her (very quickly) the rest of the bowl.
Since then, this puree has been my babies’ go-to recipe.
They loved it both plain or mixed in with some other veggies they needed more time to warm up to – I’m looking at you, broccoli and cauliflower. But when mixed with this mango puree, my kiddos licked the purees right up.
To make this puree super-duper creamy, we are going to add a ripe banana and a pinch of nutmeg. The banana mellows out the citrus taste of mango and makes it one of the yummiest combos out there. The nutmeg balances the mango out, but I also use cinnamon half of the time. Combine the soft texture of both ripe fruits, and you’ll get a creamy, appetizing puree.

Ingredients
- Mango: You can use fresh mango if they are available (they need to be ripe and soft to the touch), but thawed frozen mangoes work just as well and are way easier to deal with.
- Banana: Adding bananas are optional, and you can certainly just use mango for this recipe, however I do think adding in the banana helps make for a thicker and creamier puree. Obviously, the riper the banana, the easier it is to mash, but don’t go too brown. A few spots will give you the best flavor and texture to make this recipe a special treat.
- Nutmeg: This warm, mild spice is ideal for flavoring. You can also use cinnamon or omit the spice altogether.
